A Feng Shui consultation consists of a walk-through of the space and usually includes the outdoor space, property and surrounding area, weather permitting. Outside factors can influence the harmony of a space. Some examples would be traffic, power lines and natural landscape. The factors within a home or space that can influence the Feng Shui would be items that are in need of repair, floor plan, room layout in relation to doors, hallways and stairs. Adjustments can be as simple as furniture placement, adding a new coat of paint or other decorating items such as fine art.

In the Black Hat tradition the main item we consider is the flow of Chi sometimes called life force energy. We can utilize Feng Shui cures and reinforcements to adjust the flow of Chi. To activate, stimulate, direct, ground or transmute. Often the items recommended might include items such as wind chimes, crystals, plants, stones or statues, water features and other decorative items. Most cures are recommended to make adjustment to errors within the space or environment. One tool often used in Feng Shui is the Bagua, meaning eight sided, considered a sacred and powerful symbol. The main purpose of Feng Shui is to create harmony and balance within an environment and any space or area that is misshaped can affect the harmony of the home or office.

Feng Shui consultants recommend placement of cures and reinforcements. It is important to include ritual and ceremony. The main ritual in the BH system is called the ”Three Secrets Reinforcement” which includes three aspects; body, mind, and speech. Body is hands in prayer, mind-visualization and speech, a mantra or prayer. A Mantra is considered a sacred sound from an ancient language, the Mantra used most often is as follows: Om Ma Ni Pad Me Hum and is called the six true words. It is recommended to say this nine times.
