Degrees of Reiki
First Degree of Reiki (Hands-on-Reiki)
The student receives an initial attunement or alignment, which allows them to activate and apply the Reiki energy for their self or another. This attunement includes learning the basic treatment positions, the history of Reiki, how Reiki works and the practice of giving and receiving treatments. There is a series of four attunements required for the alignment process.
Second Degree (Distance-Reiki)
The student is given the “keys” or symbols which allow them to send Reiki in absentia and at a distance. This is work beyond physical space/time dimensions. It is also utilized to work on deep seated mental and emotional challenges. This involves an additional attunement and training in the use of symbols. The information will help the student go deeper into the process of self transformation. It is suggested, but not required that there be at least six month waiting period between receiving the First and Second Degree attunement.
Third Degree of Reiki (Master-Teacher)
It is suggested that when interested in obtaining Third Degree Reiki, that the student experience between 20-50 working Reiki sessions, prior to taking the Second Degree Reiki training. Third Degree Reiki consists of a six month study period, during which time the student will be working closely with the instructor and co-teaching workshops.
